New pictures of the galaxy

Those space telescopes are at it again.  This time with a panorama of most of our galaxy.  They took images in 5 wavelengths and pasted them all together just like you would do with your digital camera and made it interactive.  I'm not quite sure why I'm so fascinated with space, but you'd think I would know more about it than I do.  I just love seeing all the pictures and knowing that there is plenty out there to not know and be curious about without having to make stuff up to amaze ourselves.

That's the beauty of it.  People make up all kinds of crazy things like bigfoot, alien visitations, hollow earth theories, and the like.  Just open a science book and be seriously amazed at what we know we don't know already.

That is a wicked cool site, thanks for posting that!
I love outer space, all the galaxies, the endless size of it. There are millions of galaxies beyond ours, fascinating.
There's this video on youtube that just blows my mind. It shows us how small we are.
Seriously, check this out. It's mind blowing, I am humbled by the sheer size of what we live in. We are so tiny in comparison.
