The Phoenix is dying?
Looks like the Phoenix Mars lander is going to die. For any who haven't been paying attention, NASA and JPL sent an automated craft from earth to Mars. I think it took something like 6 months. So we fired it off, aimed it at where we thought Mars would be in six months, and at a particular SPOT on Mars. So this thing flies all the way out there, enters Mars' atmosphere, deploys a parachute, then uses boosters to stabilize itself and lands AUTOMATICALLY. All for a three month mission that is now over. I sure hope they can figure out how to keep power to this thing. The Mars rovers are still going strong YEARS after their mission ended, and I'd like to see the same from this one.
