Super brains? I'll take some thanks!
Again, I keep finding people going out of their way to avoid hard work, or to maintain that perfect youthfulness I just blogged about. Now w even have doctors saying that we, as healthy adults, should be allowed to take drugs intended for people with illnesses if it will help us out. On the one hand, I can see the draw of taking some drugs approved by our government and being able to concentrate better and longer. On the other hand, if I have a healthy brain and I want to concentrate longer and better, I just have to PRACTICE. If a person can do something naturally with a little work, I don't think that we should go out of our way to circumvent the work.
There is a certain amount of pride in the accomplishment of achieving greatness through sweat and dedication, and "cheating" would only further degrade the lack of pride that people seem to have in themselves today. It seems to me, and maybe just because of the state that i live in, that people, especially the younger ones, have no pride in what they do and expect everything to be handed to them fo no effort at all. That really pisses me off. If you aren't willing to pull the weight, don't sign up for the load. Maybe my tax burden will get smaller if everyone had to do without the nicer things if they weren't willing to work for them.
Note: I'm not hateful of people that need help to live or get their bills paid or whatever, I just get really irritated thinking about able-bodied, sound minded individuals not willing to put forth any effort in exchange for the things they want.
