Wanna do what why?
Imagine being on a basketball team that wins a game 100-0. Now imagine that instead of chalking it in the book, you want to forfeit your win instead. Right. In Texas, a high school basketball team won by that much, then later felt bad about it and want's to try and feel better about it by giving up the win.
I think they're missing the whole point of playing sports. Never mind the most obvious point. Giving up a pity win AFTER you kick the snot out of somebody? Talk about insult to injury.
The biggest charactor benefit to playing sports is learning the meaning of sportsmanship. It's a game. You compete. You cooperate with your teammates and your coach to execute a strategy that enables you to claim victory. Period. THAT is the game. How you handle the win or the loss is the sportsmanship.
Retrospectively, they think they were being mean by pushing the score up higher and higher, but I think they would have been mean by underplaying to the less able players on the other side of the court. I mean, what would the plan have been, anyway? Play just hard enough to win by a couple points? Take a dive this period so the underdogs can score a few? What a load of crap.
They want to feel better about themselves? Offer up some one-on-one volunteer coaching next weekend. If that might not be well received, ask the score keeper to cut the scoreboard off, but keep playing, and play hard. For the love of your parents, don't brag about winning by that much. But keep the win, even if it means keeping it to yourself. Otherwise, there won't be any such thing as competition.
