Just about all moved in and settled now.  Turns out that South Florida apparently wasn't done f'ing us over.  The dickwad techs that installed our DVR in Pines used a splitter for the extra tuner instead of running a second cable.  We had the techs out there at LEAST four times trying to diagnose the warbles, screeching, automatic fast forwarding, out-of-sync audio, and recording problems that we had, never mind the DVR not working after just two months of service.  The technician out here saw that we had a splitter on it, and said he couldn't believe that somebody would do that, and in addition to the problems we had, it could also contribute to the crappy picture quality we had, hide some channels from us, and fry our DVR.  Oh yeah, our second DVR is fried.  So no DVR until next week, thanks to the incompetent fools in South Florida.

Also got around to some shopping; car wash stuff, dog supplies, lots of food.  Something I forgot about this part of Florida was how nice random people are.  In EVERY store we've been in so far, everybody was nice to us.  Even the people WORKING there.  It's really ridiculous how different it is.  I mean, from somebody actually LOOKING in a stockroom to see if something was in the building to the burger kids having a CORRECT fast food order ready when you get to the window; I almost stopped realizing just how miserable south florida is.

All in all, I'm pretty happy right now
