Saw their new shop
I dropped off my engine block and crank at the new old shop last week. Randy and Pam have downsized to cut bills, but they still seem just as busy as ever. It's nuts to see them all cramped up in there. I got a short tour of the place, and it's quite functional. The office is organized, the machining is still separate from the mechanicking, and the automotive lifts are heavy duty.
They are going to take care of boring out the block for my new pistons, resizing my rods for the arp hardware (when I get another one and drop them all off), and resurface my head and valves when I'm done cleaning up the ports. It sure is good to have a machine shop around that you can trust to do a good job and not stick you in the shorts.
I really wish I could get all this project moving faster, but I think I'm just out of the builder frame of mind. I've spent so long planning it, and I have so much else going on, that spending all day outside working on it seems unfair to my family and my other hobbies. It'll get done, though.
