Hey Tony, why don't you go to church?

Here's why.  In a nutshell, guy rapes his stepdaughter, impregnates her with twins.  She is 9 NINE years old.  Her mother takes her to a doctor who performs an abortion.  She's NINE and shouldn't be having children OR getting raped, never mind by a grown man, let alone her stepfather.  The birthing of them could even kill her, because she's NINE years old.

Catholic church finds out.  Apparently abortion is a big bad sin, under ALL cases.  The child CHILD did not ask, or even act negligently to conceive those children.  Her life was in danger from even carrying the twins, regardless of the church supporting a c-section to alleviate the dangers of childbirth (major freakin surgery...the doctors make a point to tell you that mom can die on the table).

The church excommunicated (i.e. blocked from heaven) the little girl (who has had no free choices in ANY of this), mom (not for marrying the child-rapist bastard, but for setting up the abortion), and the doctors (for saving this girl's life,er, performing the abortion), but not the sicko twisted a-hole of a stepfather.

If I ever find a church that is worth my time, it'll end up being because the people in it have good common sense in their tightly-screwed-on heads, and I likely STILL won't believe any of their afterlife bull, but they'd accept me anyway just the way I am.  Wait, that's not at all what happens in church ANYWHERE.  People are indoctrinated, and intimidated into believing what the church wants them to for whatever gains they might make (this century it's money, not so much polical power).

One day I'll see a pastor that doesn't drive a nicer car than half his congregation.  One day I'll see a church that isn't decked out like a top-notch museum while it's parishoners are giving money to it and going home to a dirty place in the middle of a crappy street.  One day I'll see a religion that teaches that how we treat each other and raise our children is the most important thing in the world, because that's the only damned thing we actually matters, and when we die, it's game over.

Or I'll just wake up to reality, and realize that religions always were and always will be a farce.
