The smarter bunch of crows, called rooks, performed some basic problem solving.  They managed to drop some rocks into a tube of water with a worm to raise the worm high enough for them to catch an eat.  I saw a similar problem solving example in a movie once, where a police officer was teaching his trainee about influence, and he used a cup of water to extract a plastic pen cap from a bottle.  So I'm pretty sure that, given the rooks abilities, that rooks should be employed as hostage negotiators.
