Arggh, and people think that CITIZENS shouldn't be armed

Well, if what Michael Morrison says is true, then one Seargant Eric Janik is one of the a-hole cops that makes people despise the uniform.  Apparently the off-duty officer drew his weapon on Morrison, who was playing a Leatherface in a haunted house.  Towards the end of the attraction, he followed visitors just outside the house with his sans-chain chainsaw and tried to get one last scream.  The officer drew his gun and, according to Morrison, pointed it at Morrison's chest.  Aside from the fact that this guy obviously has trouble lightening up for a good laugh and some entertainment, he broke several gun safety rules.

1) Don't drink while you are carrying a weapon/firearm.
2) Identify your target and verify the threat before presenting your weapon/firearm.
3) Don't point your weapon/firearm at anything you aren't willing to completely destroy.

You'd think that an officer of the law with ten years of experience would freakin know better.  And what pisses me off is that I have to jump through hoops to get my concealed carry when "trained" professionals act as such.  The first time I did something like that, it would be a felony conviction, no doubt, and I would never be allowed to carry again, probably not vote, and I'd have to explain it at any job interview I ever had after.

And before anyone wants to start telling me that his conditioned mind identified a threat endangering his or his daughter's safety, let me remind you that he JUST LEFT THE HAUNTED HOUSE WHERE LEATHERFACE WAS ACTING!!!!!.

To make it worse, even the investigating officers noted the alcohol on Janik's breath, and Janik even changed his story from "I didn't draw my weapon" to "well, I drew it, but I pointed it at the ground."  Not exactly self defence, shooting at the ground.  Sounds to me a whole lot like "I didn't inhale."  But it's ok, we can all be safe noting that he's been suspended without pay.  Sheesh.
