What's with the weather up here?

Well, since we've been up here in Virginia, they have had some supposedly crazy weather.  First off, we got rain.  And more rain.  And yet more rain.  I thought we were still in Florida.  Of course, everyone blamed us because this was apparently very unusual for that time of year.  Fast forward to November.  Leeanne wanted a white Christmas SOOOO badly that she couldn't mention Christmas without saying "snow."  And naturally, everyone shot her down with a "sorry for yer luck" because it NEVER snows up here.  Then we got a freakin blizzard that dropped about 15 inches of snow on us.  What kills me is how long it takes to drive anywhere when the weather turns crappy.  Rain, snow, whatever.  If the road isn't dry and clear, people are going 20 mph down the road.  Yesterday I drove to work and the roads were a bit slick (more snow) and I saw three different cars in need of roadside assistance, having spun their rides off the road.  Now I remember why I used to yell at snowbirds in Florida.
