Pam who?

Somebody got me talking about spirituality ( I know, bad move) and threw out the name "Pam Reynolds."  Firstly, I was supposed to be embarrassed that I'd never heard of her, either because she claims to have had a near death experience, or because she was a singer, I don't know.

But at any rate, she gives an ostensibly convincing report of what happened to her while she was in brain surgery and supposedly brain dead.  I did some research, and the best discussion I found was here..

Best points to remember...
-All of her memories were from the beginning of the operation
-The brain can slow way down, but if it ever actually stops, there is NOTHING to suggest that it can get going again
-Many of the details of her story could have been observed before the operation got started, i.e., how her head was shaved and what some of the surgical implements looked like
-Many NDE'ers would like to validate their experiences by reporting an out of body experience, and then go to the "wealth" of information that "proves" OOBEs are real.  What you need to know: yes the government did some research and testing on OOBE, but even THEY decided it was a waste of money.  Imagine that.

I'd love to believe there was some kind of life after death, something to tie together all the meaningless nonsense of the world; some way for us all to be reunited with our loved ones.  Unfortunately there is NOTHING to suggest that it's even possible, never mind probable.

Keep your rational hats on, folks.
