Election day around the corner
Well, are all of you ready to get your vote on? After reviewing some of the candidates for local and federal offices and what they state in their platforms, I'm a bit dismayed. Not because nobody claims to want what I want, but simply because I just don't believe them anymore. I'm sick of only having two parties where niether side is willing to discuss issues because it would implicate them in the problem, too. It's kind of like trying to compare diet pills. You read the ads, you listen to what they want you to hear, then you close your eyes and pick one, throwing your hard-earned money down the drain only to realize you aren't getting the results you want, and that you were silly to think you would get the results you want from a pill in the first place. It's time for us to try some exersize and reasonable eating. Unfortunately, I think what we need to make that happen is a big ugly mean guy to tell us everything we've been doing wrong, explain why the diet pills don't, CAN'T work, and then maybe we can come to terms with how screwed we are and start making some real change.
