Romney gaffs? Say it ain’t so…

Yeah, he said he wasn't concerned about the poor. Who the hell is really surprised, anyway? And why does everyone think he should care that we all think he is a pompous, disconnected ass? After all, was he really counting on any votes from poor people? Doubt it. Does it really matter to nonpoor people that he doesn't care about poor people? Doubt it. Totally unrelated to Romney's interview, and I believe even recorded before he said it, is Dan Carlin's Common Sense episode 218 "Up Your Class." In it, Dan explains the relevance of class in America, and points out that in a competitive country like ours, we must necessarily have losers, or else it wouldn't be competitive. The flip side is that all this competition is supposed to generate enough wealth to absorb that poverty and enable us to take care of our poor a little bit more compassionately. Bottom line? I think this is evidence of Romney being an elite politician, uncaring of the average American, and only concerned about what will get him the next set of votes. Check out Dan Carlin's Common Sense.
